... losing my voice ...

I have a big favor to ask of my viewers, and that is for you to please forgive me if I don't post any videos this weekend.

I have been sick for about a week now and have nearly lost my voice.  If I were to make a video now, I'm certain that you couldn't understand a word I was saying anyway.

I'm still learning how to deal with allergies and how severe they can be sometimes.  I've only been having problems with allergies in recent years.  For all of my life, well into adulthood, I never had even a hint of allergies.  I was a perfect picture of health.  This is something new for me.  I have read that adult-onset allergies are the worst.  Boy! Were they right!

Last week I took a notion to get into some cleaning and housework.  I cleaned pretty heavy for a few days in a row.  At the end of Day 1 I knew that the dust had bothered me and was already starting to feel a bit of a sore throat.  However, it was mild so I kept on.  After a few days I was severely hoarse.  At this point, I can hardly even manage to get the words out.  I did this same thing once before when cleaning.  I think the biggest irritant this time was when I took the rug from my rear entry room outside to beat the dust out of it.  This rug is placed where my construction worker husband comes in after work every day.  The dust was just too much for my allergies and my lungs.

Image result for I'm on voice restSo here's my self diagnosis:  Breathing in the dust caused throat irritation and inflammation of my vocal cords (Laryngitis).  The dust in my lungs has caused the production of mucous to combat the dust, leading to chest congestion and coughing, as well as triggering my Asthma.  At this point, I am not going to the doctor's office.  I'm gonna give it a few more days and hope that it will go away on its own.   My hope is that it hasn't led to something worse, like perhaps a respiratory infection.

I hope that you guys will forgive me for not having any videos for you this weekend.  I really had some good ones planned too.  I'll get started on them as soon as possible.  But for now, I've put myself on voice rest, trying to talk as little as possible, with lots of Throat Soother tea, throat lozenges, raw Apple Cider Vinegar, and gargling salt water.

I'll be back to recording videos again ASAP.  Thank you so much for understanding.
