Oh how I LOVE my Cuttlebug!  I received it as a Christmas gift last year and I have had sooo much fun with it.  I love that it's portable, compact, and it folds closed to be put away.  And it's such a bonus that it looks like a cute little purse when it's closed.  It's so adorable!

I gotta be honest though.. I can't really compare it to other die cutting/embossing machines because the Cuttlebug is the only one I've ever used.  However, I have no complaints with it whatsoever!!  It works great for me and I've never had a problem.  Using it is as simple as placing your embossing or die cutting "sandwich" into the Cuttlebug and cranking the handle.  With your die placed on your cardstock or cardstock inside your embossing folder, all between the correct plates for the job, the roller bars inside apply the right amount of pressure to cut or emboss and your finished piece comes out the other side, usually in one pass.  It's one of my most favorite crafting tools.  I definitely advise getting one if you do much paper crafting at all.  I think it's absolutely invaluable!  One of the best gifts I've ever received!!

If you do plan on getting one, Amazon has an AMAZING deal on them right now!! (links below).  So cheap!  I can't even believe it!  Now would be a great time to make this purchase while the price is so low.  I'm not sure how long the sale will last..

Please be advised though, that the Cuttlebug does not come with the "C" plate for die cutting.  Your Cuttlebug purchase will include the Cuttlebug itself, 2 dies, 1 embossing folder, 1 "A" plate, 2 "B" plates, and a rubber embossing pad... pretty much everything you need for embossing, but for die cutting you will need to purchase the "C" plate seperately.

There's another Cuttlebug cutting plate that I want to tell you guys about..  Although I don't have it yet, I know I would love it.  It's a magnetic cutting plate so it will hold your dies in place and keep them from shifting around on you.  This just sounds magical to me!  I use painter's tape, for now, to hold my dies where I want them but the magnetic plate just seems like it would make it so much easier.  I plan to try to get one soon.  If you guys get one before me or might already have it, please let me know if it's as wonderful as I think it would be.

I do lots of both embossing and die cutting with mine.  At this point, I don't think I could live without it.  For some tips on different things you can do with your Cuttlebug, be sure to check out my "Let's Cuttlebug" post from when I first got it, as well as my "Let's Cuttlebug" YouTube Video to see some demonstration of how it works and how to build your embossing or die cutting "sandwich" with the different plates.  So much fun!!

Since owning my Cuttlebug, I've developed a new addiction: Punch Art!! I am absolutely obsessed with punch art and even though it's called "punch" art, I actually use more die cut paper pieces than punched pieces.  So, my Cuttlebug is definitely a necessity now.  You can see some of my punch art projects here on the blog with search words: Punch Art or by clicking Paper Crafts under "Labels" in the right sidebar.  If you prefer going straight to the videos, you can search Punch Art on my YouTube Channel as well or check out my Paper Crafts Playlist
