Yarn Wrapped Mini Pumpkin

 

My yarn wrapped mini pumpkin is super quick and easy to pull together as last minute decor for Thanksgiving/Fall.  These would also be a fun craft to do with your holiday guests.  I find myself doing small crafts lately because I've had my mind on tiered tray decor.. even though I don't have a tiered tray.  These would be adorable on a tiered tray!  Gotta get one!

Standing Easel Pumpkin ~ Place Card or Tiered Tray Decor

 

This standing easel pumpkin is like a 3-D version of punch art, created using simple oval shapes.  I began my "Punch Art" journey because I love the simplicity of creating new and interesting images using only basic shapes.  Here, I've ventured beyond paper punches by creating with wood cutouts.  In the future, I plan to use an even wider variety of crafting media to create punch art.... or... at this point I guess I should be calling it "Shape Art".🤷  

I love this pumpkin for tiered tray decor or as place cards (with the addition of names).  And, just like with punch art, you can create sooo many different decor items beyond the pumpkin.  The coolest part is the "kickstand":  made from something you all probably have on hand in great numbers!  Hit PLAY to see how I made it.:

DIY Stoneware Cake Stand

So quick and easy!  So inexpensive!  Food Safe!  Reusable!  No painting!  

I put this cake stand together using a plate and bowl I purchased from Family Dollar.  I paid $2 for the plate and $1.60 for the bowl, along with a few cents worth of hot glue.  I came in at well under $4.  Family Dollar also had plain plates and bowls without the scroll design, for only $1 each; you could also purchase them at Dollar Tree for $1 each and complete the cake stand for a total of only $2!  You can't beat that.  

I've seen many tutorials that involve spray painting plastic plates and glass candle sticks.  I don't think the paint would hold very well on those surfaces and it would definitely have to be used for decor only as the painted surface would not be food safe.  My version offers a more versatile, food safe result and also simplifies the process tremendously.  This project literally took seconds!  I used hot glue for a temporary hold so I can repurpose the dishes later on.  But you could instead use E-6000 and let it set overnight for a more permanent bond.

Orange Cranberry Bars Gift-in-a-Jar

Need a last minute hostess gift for the holidays?  These Orange Cranberry Bars are delicious!  I think Orange Cranberry is a flavor combination that is wonderful all throughout the Fall and Winter seasons, so this could carry over from Thanksgiving to Christmas as well.

Apple Table Setting

Here's another super-simple table setting for you.  I think this cute little apple would be cute for a dessert table for Thanksgiving or any Fall gathering.  Even use these at Halloween for a "bobbing for apples" vibe.  These would be great for a Farm or Country theme.  You could even add in some green and yellow ones for different varieties of apples.  They would be perfect for teachers, or any school-themed occasion.  You could use these for any party theme that showcased an apple in its storyline, such as Snow White, Twilight, etc.  Let me know what theme you would use an apple with.

Pumpkin Table Setting

It doesn't get any simpler than this for your Fall table setting!  This pumpkin table setting is super cute and fun for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or any Fall gathering!  All I did was use an oval paper plate in orange as the pumpkin, placed a green napkin behind as the stem and added a curling ribbon "vine".  You could also use gold, white, yellow, green...  any color of pumpkin or squash you can think of would look cute.

Paper Bag Sunflower

This project uses the same technique as my Paper Bag Snowflakes and my Paper Bag Poinsettia.   Sunflowers are great for Fall.  There's an endless wealth of possibilities with this technique.  And I don't think we're done yet!  You may very well see more of these in future videos! 😉

Glittery Leaves Fall Card

My first cardmaking project using die cuts made with my Cuttlebug!  I used my Cuttlebug and Fall leaf shaped dies with glitter paper in copper, gold, and rose gold to create beautiful leaves as the main feature on the front of the card.  I popped those up on foam tape to give them some dimension.  Inside I stamped a "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment.  You could also use this design for an invitation for Thanksgiving dinner or any Fall gathering.  It's a simple design but I think the glitter and dimension have a big impact.  Happy Fall!

Peeps Turkey

Remember, I told you to stock up on Peeps after Easter??  Here's why.  Peeps turkeys for Thanksgiving!  How cute!!  The Peeps have such a long shelf life, they lasted from Easter to Fall, and still showed another year beyond that before the expiration date.  So, always stock up on those clearance sales and use them in other seasons! ;-)  You might even be able to come up with ideas for other seasons.  Get Craftie and let me know what else you can come up with for Peeps!

What better way to kick of the Fall baking season than with PUMPKIN SPICE... one of my favorite things about Fall!  This tiny 4 oz. mini-jar is perfect for it.  These are great to have on hand for yourself to add to your morning coffee, oatmeal, or just about anything!  They also make a wonderful hostess gift.  This would be great to give to your hostess at Thanksgiving or any Fall gathering.  Who doesn't like pumpkin spice?  Right??

Popcorn-Stuffed Turkey

Make a fun popcorn-stuffed turkey from paper bags.  It makes a cute setting for your kids' table at Thanksgiving and it gives the children something to snack on while they're waiting for the big dinner to be served.  Decorate around it with fresh veg and you might even get the kids to eat some of those. 😉  You can use microwave popcorn, or even the pre-popped kind from the snack aisle to minimize your prep work and have this made a day ahead of time. The huskless puffy corn is great for small children to prevent choking.   And afterwards, the paper bags and tray are disposable for zero clean-up!  After all, you already have enough work to do in the kitchen preparing Thanksgiving dinner.
