Christmas Wreath Party Plates

 

Need a last minute idea for your Christmas party decor?? I got you! These are so festive and adorable but super quick and easy to put together, so you can spend your time visiting with your guests instead of stressing over an elaborate table setting. Do you remember my green striped plates from my Watermelon Party Plates back in the Summer? I still had some left... In the Summer, my brain automatically saw a watermelon rind when I spotted them in the store. Now, in a Christmas mindset, my brain sees a Christmas wreath. So that's what I'm making! Don't be afraid to pull from your stash. Maybe you don't need to run out to the store for new "Christmas plates". I love to reuse and reimagine the things that I already have on hand. I think they make adorable Christmas Wreath Party Plates. You can probably find some other plates with a green design around the border that can also become a wreath or use the solid color option which I also show you in this video.

Reindeer Bead Charms

 

My favorite thing about my bead charms is that they are open to interpretation. It's all just a play on shapes and colors, just like my punch art projects. Mix up the shapes and colors to make yours your own. In this video, I show you two options for beads you could use to create a reindeer bead charm for Christmas. You could use any brown(ish) bead in a round, oval, teardrop, or other shape of your choice for the reindeer head. Also, change it up with different red beads in different finishes (crystal, pearl, AB...) for the nose in different shapes such as rondelle, round, bicone, etc.. You could even change up the antlers.. I used leafy bead caps but you could use branch connector beads or... well, just get creative. 18 Christmas Tags from One 12x12 Sheet of Cardstock

 Let's get started early on the Christmas season.. I'm making 18 tags from one 12x12 sheet of cardstock and using my DIY Hole Reinforcers from my last video.  In the video, I show you how I decorated my tags as well, but use any stamps and dies of your choice.  The main idea is to show how I cut my cardstock to get 18 tags from one sheet.  This comes in handy for making your tags in bulk for the season.

DIY Hole Reinforcers for Gift Tags

 

There's no need to buy a special punch for hole reinforcers.  You can do it with punches you may already have.  I really like doing it this way versus just buying the hole reinforcer punch because it allows me to change up the sizes as well as the shapes.  But if you prefer to just buy the one punch, I will have it listed below also, along with the ones I use in my video.  Also, just take a look at the punches you already have.  You'll likely have some that will work great.  I'm a huge advocate of using what you already have to get more uses from them before making an additional purchase.

DIY Stoneware Cake Stand

So quick and easy!  So inexpensive!  Food Safe!  Reusable!  No painting!  

I put this cake stand together using a plate and bowl I purchased from Family Dollar.  I paid $2 for the plate and $1.60 for the bowl, along with a few cents worth of hot glue.  I came in at well under $4.  Family Dollar also had plain plates and bowls without the scroll design, for only $1 each; you could also purchase them at Dollar Tree for $1 each and complete the cake stand for a total of only $2!  You can't beat that.  

I've seen many tutorials that involve spray painting plastic plates and glass candle sticks.  I don't think the paint would hold very well on those surfaces and it would definitely have to be used for decor only as the painted surface would not be food safe.  My version offers a more versatile, food safe result and also simplifies the process tremendously.  This project literally took seconds!  I used hot glue for a temporary hold so I can repurpose the dishes later on.  But you could instead use E-6000 and let it set overnight for a more permanent bond.
